Yes, all Junior Referees must register and meet the training requirements of the program in order to work games. New Referee registration for the 2026 program begins December 1, 2025 and spots fill up quickly!

You must register for this program through our standard online registration process. The registration window is only open December-January for that year’s recreational seasons. Due to the high demand of this program, we have a limited number of new registrations available each year, and will create a waitlist once that number is met.

Yes. For every year you are a part of this program you need to register. Once you are in the program for the first time, you are guaranteed a spot in the program the following year, as long as you meet the age requirement. When you turn 13 years old, you will graduate from the Junior Referee Program and be eligible to join the optional Fast Track Program for a continued guided experience, or you can move on to receive your USSF License.

TRA works to provide a positive referee experience for every referee that works our club’s games. When you become a part of the Junior Referee Program, you will receive guided support, training, and a referee kit so you are ready to experience the positive work environment we offer as you grow and develop your referee skills.

That’s great news! Now it’s time to join the Fast Track Referee Program for additional guided support, or simply pursue just your USSF License to work USSF-sanctioned games at our club and across the state.

• Register and pay the fee. Registration includes a Junior Referee Kit for game day, a referee guidebook, and a spot on the referee team.

• Participate in one 2-hour in-person training session (March–April) and one 1.5-hour practice session (March–April).

• Work at least 5 recreational games during the season.
